Important Information
This following application form is to be used to apply for a Vehicle Identification and Dating Opinion. Please read this information carefully before you fill in the Application form.
A Vehicle Identification and Dating Opinion is often referred to as ‘Full Dating’. This service is only available to Members of the Veteran Car Club of Great Britain (VCC). Membership of the VCC must be continuous throughout the time that your Application for a Vehicle Identification and Dating Opinion is being considered.
Failure to maintain your Membership may result in your Application being discontinued. Id you are not already a member you will be able to apply as part of your dating application in the form below.
The Application for a Vehicle Identification and Dating Opinion must be made by the owner{s) of the vehicle (the Applicant). Applications from anyone other than the owner(s) will not be accepted. The Application is made to Veteran Car Company Limited (VCCL) using this form.
The full completion of this Application form, together with digital photographs of the vehicle in the form of high resolution jpeg or jpg files, and any other information as detailed in the Application form will be required prior to acceptance of this Application by VCCL. Incomplete Application forms will not be accepted.
You will be asked to supply your email address, this will be used to contact you about your Application and failure to provide a correct email address will lead to delays in
managing your Application. Failure to respond to emails or correspondence from the Dating Advisory Committee (DAC) may result in your Application being discontinued.
The Application form, photographs/images and any additional information you provide will be retained by VCCL and will remain copyright of VCCL.
The Application Fee and Research Fee must be paid in full directly to Veteran Car Company Limited, together with the Brass Plate Fee (if required), and the Late fee (if applicable), at the time of application.
Please see the Schedule of fees for full details.
If your Application is discontinued for any of the reasons described above, it goes into abeyance. This means that no further work is done on the Application, and that it cannot be re-opened for two years and then only after payment of a new dating fee applicable at the time.
Useful Information
A Complimentary VP or VP Extension may be issued whilst an Application for a Vehicle Identification and Dating Opinion by VCCL is in progress. A Complimentary VP or VP Extension will be considered for all Applications for Vehicle Identification and Dating Opinions where the date of manufacture claimed by the Applicant for the vehicle is before 1905.
For Applications received from the 1st January until the 31st July in any calendar year, a Complimentary VP or VP Extension will be considered for that calendar year. For Applications received between 1st June and 31st July in any calendar year, a Complimentary VP or VP Extension will only be considered for that calendar year, if an additional Late Fee is paid. Please see the Schedule of Fees of this Application form for full details. Otherwise, a Complimentary VP or VP Extension will be considered for the following calendar year. For Applications received between the 1st August and the 31st December in any calendar year, a Complimentary
VP or VP Extension will only be considered for the following calendar year.
Where possible, a Complimentary VP or VP Extension will be determined by the 31st August each year, providing the appropriate fees have been paid. Not all Applications for a Complimentary VP or VP Extension are successful; about 1 in 5 are declined.
Once a VP or VP Extension has been considered and a VP or VP Extension has been issued, it will be reconsidered for an extension at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year whilst the Application for a Vehicle Identification and Dating Opinion by VCCL is still in progress. The granting of VCC VP Extensions may be dependent on a satisfactory inspection of the vehicle by the DAC.
During the process of providing a Vehicle Identification and Dating Opinion, please note that the vehicle must be inspected by at least two members or nominees of the DAC. The DAC inspect vehicles at designated inspection sites where they have access to a safe working environment with four post car lifts or ramps.
If this is not possible, an alternative location may be considered, but this will cause delays with the Application and the Applicant agrees to bear the reasonable travelling and accommodation expenses incurred by the DAC inspectors, and to arrange a suitable inspection facility (to include a four post car lift or car ramp).
During the inspection, photographs will be taken, measurements will be made and non-destructive tests may be conducted. Additionally, you may be asked to dismantle part of the vehicle for the taking of photographs, measurements and/or non-destructive testing.
